Yes, Rod didn't post from August 29 – September 17, 2023, I guess, doing my Summer last bucket list to dooos. Summer 2023, June 21 through Sept. 23. This is my last Post September 18, 2023 till somewhere around May 2025 as some have a lot of catching up to do; a lot posted February 2022 - Summer 2023. Tentatively, this is my last post over the next couple years unless an emergency arises or I have to make a correction or change something out that messed up. Got to take a mind break sometime. The summer with the greatest temperature reading worldwide showed us that Mother Nature is still the Greatest Show Doer, while Outdoor Concerts and show events devastated by her powers; and even shattering maybe Indoor Venues hopes for a good show turnout. Mother Nature continued through the summer showing her as the Greatest Show Getter with torrential rains, hail (Summer ice storms), torrid winds, mudslides and floods. 

However, that is nothing new for Mother Nature, Roman Weather Gods Tempestas, Aquilo, Favonius, Auster and Vulturnus or Greeks Weather Gods Boreas, Zephyrus, Notus, and Eurus. Weather; just small remnants of Almighty. 

Things of Producers concerns are tips from fan goers and stage hands. Some online say large concerts need more food trucks and food vendors to feed crowds and cut lines, or let them bring their own food from outside; better handling of trash, large forklift gondola bends and trash hoppers instead of hefty trash bag cans for their food and beverage waste, or more trash cleanup crews 24/7; and some suggest that stage hands should be provided at least with hotel accommodations, or told that they would have to provide their own showering accommodations, in their salary negotiations because in rain and mud after one person shower, things are dirty, dirt filled, and need cleaning.

Many Greatest Planned Shows devastated as she put on a show swiftly enter and existing just as swift causing chaos, confusion, severe weather alerts, that not even the best of planners could fathom. A year or more planning all washed away. Some places for a few moments and others a few days. Burning Man in Death Valley devastated with hurricane heavy rains and winds, thunderstorm, floods, mudslides, roads wash outs, never before seen, and concert goers told to rash in their food. It would take months to put back the roads washed out.

 Blueridged Music Fest, the Greatest Metal Show Lineup for 2023, overwhelmed by a few days of Burning Man in Death Valley same devastations with hurricane heavy rains and winds, thunderstorm, floods, mud, hail, parking or roads wash outs; worse than the previous 2 years. Labor Day Weekend's two days of clouds, cool days, and rain showers tampered outdoor day and nighttime pool parties and roof top dance events. Football. As many popped open their beers, liqueur or drinks, prepared the tailgate, and placed their last minute bets for the Jets game, anticipating watching the Greatest Show opening Season Game for this year 2023 for a comeback veteran, hey we got Jimmy G Vegas Nation, and we ain't forgot our favorite, Dickie V greatest show, sports announcer in college basketball trip to Vegas, but Mother Nature would strike again. Yes, it was years of experiencing Mother Nature that the artificial turf was put down; some blamed that artificial turf for the Greatest Event awaiting again thwarted. 

Mother Nature Greatest Shows, verses her Sunny calm days, a brief shower, maybe with a rainbow, letting other show producers reign for a day or weekend, maybe too much rain contrary to what outdoor concerts were made for; celebrating mother's natures beauty; her son. 

We blame long lines even though we know we are going to the Greatest Lineup, music or art, for the year. We think it unorganized when those lines are cut and you are given freedom to set up wherever you want; the planning put in your hands. Put on your walking shoes and pack only your essential needs for packing up and moving around for the day and night, securing your own belongings; again the planning put in your hands. Put on your walking shoes, weather gear, umbrella, and other wear for any Concert, or Greatest Event or Show List of all times; because you will have to walk a hump and/or be shuttled from distant parking lots to cut down on those long driving lines that bottle neck at the gate. 

Mother Nature wasn't having it this summer of 2023, Mother Nature showed again who the Greatest Event Showcase would be “though self.” But, this wasn't her first Event. Mother Nature shown the Greatest Show Producer for decades stealing the headlines, winning front page; for centuries. Rod's Christmas outdoor shows, the Greatest Productions locally those years, devastated by Mother Nature Snow a couple of years, ice and freezing rain, snow, and freezing cold weather. Rod ended his shows after the last devastation. Woodstock, said to be the Greatest Show Lineup in history showered still by rain, but the show did go on and the producer did pull it off taking the Greatest Showcase for that year, 60 or so years ago, away from Mother Nature as being the Greatest Show Producer for that brief moment, that weekend. Maybe the producer felt that luck to pull off such an event and best not to compete against Mother Nature again. They may not fare as well the next time around. There were no more Woodstock Festival by that show producer, no more Greatest of All Time attempts, for that era. 

In show disasters, many blame everything under the Sun not giving Mother Nature her props as being the Greatest Show Producer in the world superseding all that man could plan. We blame out door producers for not having put up tents and covers anticipating the storms. The same structures that would have caused severe injuries. We blame band cancellations for severe weather announcements, when we should have watched the weather ourselves, found a room at a hotel within a 100 miles, and endured the minor financial loss, over life loss, maybe own. Watch the weather and don't hesitate not going to a show, or riding it out in the nearest hotel because most outdoors do not have enough indoor venue to house you under severe weather warning and occurrences. Even though you may lose a little thing called money some years, and the producer may lose his ass, keep yourself safe and hope for better conditions, or even a show at all, the next year. All said, many of the Mosh Pit Metal Heads and The Death Valley Weather Goers, 140 degrees some time, will maybe ride out hurricanes and severe weather outdoors anyway. Mother Nature, that event, was an event to talk about itself.

Also, fear of such a great event not occurring again, compel many to ride it out at the show with hope some glimmer of success.

After all of the blame, realization hits, things are not so bad after all, and more plans are hoped for next year; hoping Mother Nature would not steal that Show too, that year, again. 

Our prayers go out to all producers, event staff, concert goers, and performers devastated this year by Mother Nature. But, like Woodstock, any Greatest Show lineup, music or art, may have been the last one that the producer, performers, or event staff, want to risk against the Greatest Show Producer, Mother Nature. As they say, "The Show Must Go On" and another aspiring show producer will put on The Greatest Show Lineup, and again, challenged by Mother Nature, The Greatest Show Producer, may just pull it off.

As they say in show business, "The Show Must Go On" and many more show producers are still at work creating new events, shows, parties, tailgates, foodies, opening businesses, and watch parties, as we watch some fade away in the Neon Nite Lights. It was fun. Keep Dancing.
